The clients hated their garden. They had little gardening knowledge and it was a constant struggle to maintain and build up any enthusiasm at all about their outdoor space. They decided they no longer wanted a lawn but preferred to have areas in which to sit, relax and entertain. A water feature was required together with an easy to look after planting scheme. The clients were going to build the garden themselves but needed plans to follow. Two distinct seating areas were designed connected by a box edged pathway and featuring a raised bed and water feature next to the main lounging area. The second seating area, in the shade, was created by building a curved seat with a timber back rest with a paved area in front for a firepit. This area could now be used as additional seating for larger gatherings. The clients requested a modern look so rendered and painted walls together with polished sandstone paving was specified. My clients recently commented that their garden was now “the best room in the house”.

Thanks for such a great job Sue! It has been a wonderful service from the moment we contacted you. We had no idea what we wanted really so the consultation we had with you was perfect! You asked all the right questions and made us realise exactly what we were looking for in our “new garden” from shapes, colours, textures, plants to even how we wanted to use it!
We now feel we have 2 extra rooms added to the house because we have an extra dining room when we eat outside as well as a very comfortable and relaxing area to use.
We have spent more time relaxing in and enjoying our garden these last two years since the redesign than in the whole 15 years we have lived here.
Even now, 2 years since completion, we can’t believe how happy we are with our new garden. We have never considered ourselves gardeners at all and wanted as low maintenance as possible. Now, we look for any opportunity to go outside and spend time there. It was the best investment we made. Thanks so much!
