Dreaming of an Outdoor Kitchen Design this summer? This spectacular outdoor kitchen design in Cheshire, forming part of a large entertaining space, may inspire you.
Is a large, fully fitted outdoor kitchen just a pipe dream for you? Imagine top of the range built-in appliances, wood burning pizza oven and granite work surfaces. Well, I think it is for most of us when we’re trying to get old smoky to light!
So, when I was commissioned to incorporate one into a garden design in Cheshire last year it was just like living the dream. What an opportunity. My clients’ appliances ‘want’ list was extensive and we could really go to town with the design. The kitchen was to form part of a larger entertaining space.
To begin with, a bespoke L-shaped Breeze House was built. This formed part of a huge landscaping project involving a massive decked area next to a newly built natural swimming pool. During the deck construction we had to build in all the necessary drainage and appropriate electrical supply.
Once the Breeze House was built, the landscaping contractors set about constructing the timber carcasses for the outdoor kitchen. This was to sit in one end of the new structure. We had all the appliances on site and the framework was built extremely accurately to all the required dimensions.
The appliances were positioned numerous times to make sure everything was stop on. One of the main issues was to make sure they fitted accurately once the kitchen framework was clad with stone.
In the corner, we built a wood burning oven. This was a Mezzo 76 kit from The Stone Bake Company. The contractors constructed a plinth with log store beneath. Once the oven was fitted on top, they constructed a domed brick chimney and flue. This took the smoke away through the roof of the Breeze House using special heat proof fittings.
Once the kitchen units were clad with the Rustic Quartz stone, the appliances were finally fixed into place. These included a gas fired barbeque, additional side burners, warming drawers, a number of chillers, Teppanyaki grill, stainless steel sink with instant hot water. Once fitted, the kitchen was finished with black granite work surfaces.
The finished kitchen was built by Platinum Gardens and Driveways who were the landscaping contractors for the whole project. The bespoke Breeze House was supplied and constructed by Breeze House, Leek, Staffordshire. The appliances were supplied by Fire Magic, Kent. The Mezzo 76 oven kit was supplied by The Stone Bake Oven Company, Christchurch.
